Hire a scooter, there are many places to hire with rates of about 200 baht for a 125 cc to 300-350 for a slightly bigger 150cc. We are a travelling family of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 10 and 16. We were here April 2019 for 3 weeks. Had great fun visiting various beaches all around Phuket on scooters. Petrol ranges from 25 to 40 baht per litre. We could travel from kata to patong, return and travel south to naiharn beach ( beautiful) and only had to top up 1 litre per bike. Good roads and felt very safe doubling kids on back. Much cheaper than tuktuks who constantly hawk for your business.

Hi, I was already more than 40 times in different places in Thailand and yes also in the Kata Thani hotel. The beach is lovely, but we can say that there are many beautifull beaches in Phuket, like Surin Beach, Bang Thao Beach, Nai Harn Beach and Kamala Beach. In Hua Hin, about 3 hours driving with taxi from Bangkok you have also a beautifull beach. So its up to you to look on google to the beaches for making your chose.
