Apologies for the delay, I did reply to this earlier, however it was not posted. Agree with previous comments...best to check Newcastle Tourism website. Only because you are from Finland . you could be cheeky and see if you can stay overnight...I am sure the worst to happen is you will asked to move on....you can always plead ignorance..speak Finnish to back up confusion and broken English. Lonely planet did name Newcastle in top 10 in past years. Having visited Helsinki and Rovaniemi (the official home of Santa Claus on the Arctic circle) on 2 occasions and been provided with wonderful hospitality, surely we can do the same to international visitors from Finland. Newcastle is going through a major change, however it has not lost the beauty of the working harbour and some of the best beaches in the world..plus lots of coffee shops. Enjoy

A lot of people walk their dogs on the foot path adjacent to the beach. Highly popular. However dogs are not allowed on this beach. There is a designated dog beach some 10 minutes away (Horseshoe Beach) next to Nobby's Beach.

I dont think there are any at the moment though there is a lot of work in progress at the beach front there maybe some being built in the future.

yes there is ample parking across from the beach front in a free parking lot
