you can access the park at anytime on foot but by car off season is a bit harder. if the gates are open you can park but if they are not you have to find a place to park off the road.
We live in south Jersey and were recently talking with a fisherman in Fortesque. The area is inundated with green heads flies but nothing was bothering him. I was being eaten alive just sitting on the bulkhead!!!! He suggested a sunscreen product called Australian Gold that he claims repels green heads. He got the information from another old fisherman. It sure seemed to be working and we will be bringing it with us when we visit Maine next month!
