This is a very special temple. You should go there in the dark, because many decoration are iluminated because of fluorescenting colour. Full review by Juerg S

A beautiful and somewhat mystical temple perched above the Mekong River and across from Laos. The paint used is luminescent and comes to life in the darkness! Best to go late in the day and stay well… Full review by JamHam

The setting of Wat Pha Prao is very pleasant, with views out over the Sirindhorn Reservoir and good sunset views, depending on the weather. The Lao-style temple is also very pleasing to the eyes. B… Full review by Raintree_Thailand

I plan to visit Ubon Ratchathani in August and visit Sirindhorn Wararam Temple to see the sunset from here and lighting performance after it gets dark. This means that I should stay at this temple from 18;00 to 19:30. Could you let me know the travel agency or the taxi company to take me from Ubon Ratchathani to visit Sirindhorn Wararam Temple in the early evening and go back to Ubon Ratchathani in the evening on that day? Or, do I have to stay overnight around the temple? Your advice would be highly appreciated.

I would suggest you to rent the taxi or driving here by yourself. You can make go and back trip on the same evening but you will arrive Ubon downtown a bit late night. P.S. The temple …

You can travel by plan from Bangkok to Ubonratchatani And take The bus transport to the border crossings Thailand - Laos at Chong Mek and to find a car hire to The temple. Or rent …

You can travel by plan from Bangkok to Ubonratchatani And take The bus transport to the border crossings Thailand - Laos at Chong Mek and to find a car hire to The temple. Or rent a car from the airport drive to the temple By yourself It is a good alternative to the other one.
