Elkins is a city in and the county seat of Randolph County, West Virginia, United States, along the Tygart Valley River. The population was 6,950 at the 2020 census. It was incorporated in 1890 and named in honor of Stephen B. Elkins, the city's co-founder and later U.S. Senator from West Virginia. Elkins is home to Davis and Elkins College and the Mountain State Forest Festival, held in early October every year.
