Nice spot to pass time, get in touch with nature again. They have Short & long Trails-pit toilets, visitor center & a one way loop road you can drive. We drove that & did a few short trails to overlo… Full review by zonkey99

I drive a Honda Civic with normal tires. I was fine.

During this short time we would like to visit the Kootenai falls and The Palouse but only one of the area wildlife refuges. So, should it be Kootenai or Turnbull? Where do we have more chances for wildlife encounters and diversity in this season? where are the chances of meeting Bluebirds bigger? Thank you!

If you're wanting to see wild life... for sure Turnbull... but you'll miss the beauty of the falls. Turnbull is close to I-90 (10-15 miles) loop thru Cheney and back to I-90 Kootenai Falls …

If you're wanting to see wild life... for sure Turnbull... but you'll miss the beauty of the falls. Turnbull is close to I-90 (10-15 miles) loop thru Cheney and back to I-90 Kootenai Falls on the way there or on return. But that's just me, I Loe them both.
