we drove to visit the Castle and we ended seeing it from the river shore as there were no boats to cross it looks as an interesting site on a small island on the riverFull review by Temper43

Thank you - yes we intend to take the train to Tomar but I’ll also look at route you suggest with Uber included and then maybe on to Tomar from there.

Yes. I cant see why not. The interior is small and I seem to remember a dog water bowl at the gate. It would be a great place to take a dog. views are great as well!

It's a castle set on a high hill in a river. You take a boat to get there and then climb and climb. We waited a short bit for the boatsman to get back from lunch, and it was worth it.
