I asked this question last week, go at your allotted time but you can get in the queue a tad earlier if you like as there's always a wait. We usually join the queue 15 minutes beforehand, by the time we get there it's spot on. If you have a special reason then call ahead or email them.

Hi there, we visited inMay and from memory it ran every 20 or 30 minutes. The only potential problem with the hop on/off theory is that most people seem to stay onboard for the whole circuit, so there is just a chance that there won’t be space to hop back on, from the intermediate stops. However, for someone with mobility challenges, I’m sure they driver would try to accommodate. Cheers

I’m taking my mum in a wheelchair to Kew. Will 1 day be enough to see everything or better to split into 2? Thanks

That really depends on 2 things, the good old weather here in the UK and to what level your interest is in all things horticulture or arboriculture. Kew Gardens is an extensive site and it does have good access for wheelchair users even in the various glass houses.Obviously pushing a wheelchair itself will be something that restricts the amount you can cover in a day but to see the more important features like the temperate glasshouse and the palm house and Princess of Wales Conservatory I think could be done in a busy day. There are several places to eat within Kew, not the cheapest of places and car parking is something of an issue but I would presume you may be travelling to site by taxi or similar. I guess the simple answer would be if you just want a cursory visit to get a feel of what Kew has to offer then 1 day would be fine, if you want to get into the plants and history in any depth then perhaps I would say 2 days, however, enjoy your visit.
