Ryan Coogler and other members of the cast and crew of "Sinners" are scheduled to appear in Clarksdale on May 29 for a special screening of the film.

The film is set in Clarksdale during the 1930s, telling the story of two brothers returning home to the Delta to start anew, with unexpected challenges awaiting them.

Community member Tyler Yarbrough, who helped arrange the screening, had written an open letter to film director Ryan Coogler, star Micheal B. Jordan and the rest of the "Sinners" to visit Clarksdale and collaborate on a public screening. The petition received nearly 6,000 signatures.

"Sinners" is set in Clarksdale, Mississippi. But the city has no movie theater, so the bloody, bluesy box-office hit couldn't be screened there. A public plea has changed that.

WB's still got 'Sinners' playing in theaters, but it won't be long before you can take it into your arms at home.

The Mississippi town of Clarksdale is, in many ways, the heart and soul of the movie Sinners. But, until this week, its residents had no way to benefit from the film’s massive success at the box office.

This weekend, there will be multiple movie screenings held at the auditorium, giving residents a chance to check out the film.
