Idris Elba rose to fame on the acclaimed HBO crime drama “The Wire,” but he recently made a shocking admission: he’s never seen the show, and refuses to watch it. “If I’m really honest, I didn’t watch ‘The Wire,’” Elba, 52, shared on a recent episode of Amy Poehler’s “ Good Hang ” podcast.

Idris Elba may have made a mark with his role on The Wire, but that doesn’t mean he watched the show. “I wanna stay in the present, and I wanna talk about the future. But if you will indulge me, a little bit of past, because — and I promise I'll make it fast,” Poehler told her guest. "But I'm such a huge fan of The Wire .”

Elba shared that one of his ongoing issues is tight hip flexors, and he uses squats to help keep them mobile. Poehler was impressed and asked if his knees could handle it. Elba’s deadpan response—"no"—sent them both into laughter.
