The Testaments, the sequel series to The Handmaid’s Tale, has cast a major leading role. The upcoming series, based on Margaret Atwood’s 2019 novel, is set 15 years after the events of its predecessor. The novel is narrated by Aunt Lydia, a character from the previous novel; Agnes, a woman living in Gilead; and Daisy, from Canada.

Lucy Halliday (Blue Jean) has been tapped as a lead opposite Chase Infiniti and Ann Dowd in The Handmaid’s Tale sequel The Testaments for Hulu. Like The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments is based on a novel by Margaret Atwood.

The Testaments takes place 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale and tracks the lives of Lydia, Agnes, and Daisy through alternating POVs. All three are questioning their relationships to Gilead. The series is created and showrun by Bruce Miller.
