A federal appeals court has overturned former City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby's mortgage fraud conviction, but they kept in place her perjury convictions.

A federal appeals court on Friday overturned Marilyn Mosby’s mortgage fraud conviction but upheld two perjury counts tied to early withdrawals from her retirement fund.

In a decision written by Circuit Judge Stephanie D. Thacker, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled an erroneous jury instruction in the mortgage fraud trial against former Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby was sufficiently prejudicial to warrant reversal.
