ICE is defending its agents after a controversial arrest in Providence Thursday. A spokesperson for the agency said the subject has a previous arrest record. Protesters outside Rhode Island hospital on Thursday said they that ICE used a taser while arresting a man that morning.

The man, who had a interview for his green card scheduled the day ICE detained him, was brought to Rhode Island Hospital, where his attorney was not allowed to speak with him.
