Detroit - For the second consecutive year, the Red Wings and Patrick Kane took negotiations to the eve of free agency. The Wings and Kane worked something out on Monday night.

Patrick Kane signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings on Monday.

Patrick Kane has been a great fit throughout his two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, and it looks as if the two sides are set to run it back for another year.The Red Wings announced Monday evening that Kane would be staying put with the organization after agreeing to a new one-year contract worth $3 million.
