The Trump administration has targeted international students in wake of pro-Palestinian protests and other activities.

The student said he was held for several hours after his arrest without being told why, except that his F-1 student visa was “retroactively revoked.”

The order comes as President Trump expands deportation efforts, including of students who have spoken out in support of Palestinians during Israel’s war in Gaza.

A Trump administration official says the Minnesota college student detained recently by ICE had his visa revoked over alleged drunk driving, and not related to pro-Palestinian protests.
