The tomb of Thutmose II, a pharaoh who ruled about 3,500 years ago, has been discovered west of the Valley of the Kings.

The tomb of Thutmose II, who ruled about 3,500 years ago, was discovered by an Egyptian-British team near the Valley of the Kings.

The ministry of antiquities said the discovery of the tomb of Thutmose II, whose wife, Hatshepsut, took the throne after his death, was the first excavation of a royal tomb near the Valley of the Kings since 1922.
