Background Inappropriate sinus tachycardia (IST) is characterized by persistent and disproportional elevation of heart rate (HR). Ivabradine has been successfully used in some patients.
Our opinion is that high resting HR will remain as much a marker for underlying substrate/illness as it will be a modifiable risk factor. We hope that definitions of tachycardia will change.
