United Airlines will get five additional gates at O’Hare International Airport starting Oct. 1, according to a new gate-reallocation process at the airport. Its main rival at O’Hare, American Airlines, will lose four gates under a “fly it or lose it” provision in the new lease agreement between carriers and the city.
