David Andrews took to social media on Thursday to thank the New England Patriots for 10 great years. In a surprising move, the longtime team captain was released Thursday morning, but Andrews is grateful for what the organization did for him throughout his career.

Andrews has previously considered retirement and said in February that he couldn't envision playing anywhere else.

The New England Patriots released longtime center David Andrews, the team announced Thursday. Andrews, an undrafted free agent signed by the Patriots in 2015, appeared in 124 games for the AFC East franchise.
