Big Bear eagles Jackie and Shadow made it back to their nest after the Fourth of July fireworks display sent them away. The Friends of Big Bear Valley posted on their blog that the parents returned to one of their favorite trees on Sunday after flying away during the Fourth of July fireworks.

Big Bear's famous eagles Jackie and Shadow have been spotted in the area after the Fourth of July. It's welcome news for the pair's many fans, who worried that the vacation town's firework show would disrupt the eagles and their two babies Sunny and Gizmo, who left the nest last month.

Join us at 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning, July 4th for the St. Matthews Independence Day 5K. This race has its origins back to the 1970's (with the course unchanged) in what was then called the St. Matthews Pavement Pounder. This fun and fast timed race begins and ends at St. Matthews Baptist Church (3515 Grandview Avenue). Walkers are welcome!
