Greta Thunberg condemned Israel for kidnapping and suppressing humanitarian aid after being deported for attempting to deliver much-needed supplies to Gaza by sea.

LONDON -- The Israeli Foreign Ministry said early Monday that Israeli forces had boarded and diverted a privately owned ship carrying Swedish human rights activist Greta Thunberg and several others, who said they were attempting to bring humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Greta Thunberg was on a flight to France en route home to Sweden after being deported from Israel a day after the Gaza-bound aid yacht she was on board was intercepted by the Israeli military in international waters.

The Madleen, launched by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, is one of several Gaza-bound vessels intercepted by Israel.

The group is carrying supplies for Gazan Palestinians and protesting what they say is “Israel’s “illegal, decades-long blockade, and ongoing genocide” in the enclave.
