Anti-ICE protests continue in Los Angeles after the National Guard was deployed following immigration enforcement actions.

Protests surrounding immigration enforcement actions in the Los Angeles area and the Trump administration's response to them have cued up a public spat between President Trump and Gov. Newsom.

Unlike the 1992 riots, protests have mainly been peaceful and been confined to a roughly five-block stretch of downtown LA, a tiny patch in the sprawling city of nearly 4 million people. No one has died. There’s been vandalism and some cars set on fire but no homes or buildings have burned.

Accusing him of “turning the military against American citizens," California Governor Newsom moved to stop President Trump from using the military to quell the anti-ICE riots in L.A.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown has gone well beyond arresting criminals and that “dishwashers, gardeners, day laborers and seamstresses” are among tho
