Sony is putting its PlayStation Stars rewards program on permanent hiatus. The program, which launched in summer 2022 and arrived in the US later that autumn, offered gamers a chance to earn points, collectibles and games by completing in-game activities similar to Discord's Quests.

PlayStation Stars was Sony’s bizarre overhaul of its existing loyalty program aimed at rewarding players with not just points they could put toward purchases of digital games but also with collectibles they could display on a virtual shelf.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced it will begin winding down the current version of its PlayStation Stars loyalty program. Introduced in 2022, the program allowed players to earn points and unlock digital collectibles by completing various in-game activities.
