Israel’s military said a “technical error” had caused munition to land dozens of meters from its target. The victims were gathered near a water distribution point, health workers said.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the strike, which witnesses said hit a crowd queuing to get water at a refugee camp.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) -At least eight Palestinians, most of them children, were killed and more than a dozen others were wounded in central Gaza on Sunday, local officials said, in an Israeli missile strike which the military said missed its intended target.
