It was another action packed Saturday night of the NBA All-Star weekend with history being made, a slam dunk masterclass, and a controversial disqualification all taking place in San Francisco.
A slow-mo video of McClung's mind-blowing dunk is currently making its rounds on social media, and it comes as absolutely no surprise that it has left NBA fans in utter disbelief. The dunk was widely impressive at first look, but it was even better once given the slow-mo treatment.
Making good use of props, the Orlando G Leaguer bested the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year to win his third NBA Slam Dunk Contest title in a row.
The dunker has played just one NBA game for the Magic this season. McClung has spent most of the 2024-25 campaign with the Osceola Magic in the G League. The Magic guard won the contest for the third year in a row on Saturday with three perfect 50 scores. McClung jumped over a car to help him win over the judges.
As he prepared to complete the first three-peat in NBA Dunk Contest history, Mac McClung looked to the South Bay’s greatest dunker for inspiration. Nine years earlier, Aaron Gordon had donned that same blue Orlando Magic jersey and put on a spectacular performance in the dunk contest.
