Just like last year at this point, it isn’t entirely certain what the split of playing time will be in left field for the Padres. Things probably won’t work out like they did last year, when Jurickson Profar had the season he had always dreamed about 10 years into his career.

The 35-year-old spent last season with the Dodgers and Astros, batting .211 with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs in 87 games.

As with much of their roster, the Padres’ left field situation is much clearer now than it was last month. Jason Heyward and Connor Joe are on board -- and both have reported to camp ahead of Monday’s first full-squad workout.
