NBA Slam Dunk Contest history was made Saturday night in San Francisco. Mac McClung, who had four perfect 50s on four attempts, won the Dunk Contest for the third consecutive year, becoming the first player in history to pull off a three-peat in the event.

The G League star and dunk maven recorded perfect scores of 50 on all four of his jaw-dropping, creative dunks.

As he prepared to complete the first three-peat in NBA Dunk Contest history, Mac McClung looked to the South Bay’s greatest dunker for inspiration. Nine years earlier, Aaron Gordon had donned that same blue Orlando Magic jersey and put on a spectacular performance in the dunk contest.

McClung captured the crowd with each dunk, and won the competition for the third straight year. That he’s not a star shouldn’t be a factor.

NBA All-Star weekend served up a DQ in the skills competition, a surprising winner in the 3-point contest, and eye-popping dunks from Mac McClung.
