The winning image, shot with a fish-eye lens from a a rocky shelf on the Lake Michigan shore, topped a record 770-plus entries in the annual contest.

Humans aren’t the only ones who enjoy the occasional snow, and it was too fun Thursday to worry about cold paws. Dogs and their owners were out and about, playing together, all across Hampton Roads.
