Indianapolis Colts GM Chris Ballard swung big in free agency and landed one of the top cornerbacks available in Charvarius Ward. Ward is one year removed from an All-Pro season in 2023, where he allowed a completion rate of only 54% and had a whopping five interceptions and 17 pass breakups,

The addition of Ward, along with former Vikings safety Camryn Bynum, whom the Colts also agreed to terms with Monday, clearly shows Indy’s urgency to upgrade its secondary. Ward is another player for new Colts DC Lou Anarumo to utilize amid his multiple schemes that place a heavy emphasis on the defensive backs’ versatility.

After agreeing to a deal with former Minnesota Vikings safety Cam Bynum, they are set to land former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward on a three-year deal worth $60 million that includes $35 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
