Flash flood warnings were issued for multiple areas of the metro, including Independence, Raytown, and Blue Springs.

Los Angeles County was placed under an updated flood advisory by the National Weather Service on Friday at 4:04 p.m. The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m.

Heavy rain overnight Thursday and into early morning Friday led to damages and road closures in Benton County.

The Kansas City metro remains under a flash flood warning through 1 p.m. Thursday following overnight thunderstorms that brought a record-breaking downpour.

The NWS Wakefield VA released a flood advisory at 5:18 p.m. on Friday in effect until 7:15 p.m. for Bertie County.

Much of the U.S., including North Carolina, has experienced a significant increase in intense rainfall and widespread flooding throughout July, often unrelated to tropical systems and impacting areas outside designated floodplains.

At 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, the NWS Blacksburg VA issued a flood watch valid from 2 p.m. until Friday midnight. The watch is for Ashe, Alleghany, Surry, Stokes, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin counties.
