Less than a year after their son spent eight days in the pediatric ICU unit of an Orange County hospital, the Freemans are paying it forward.

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman made a large donation to the hospital that his family credits for saving his son’s life. On Monday, the Freeman family made check out to Children’s Hospital of Orange County for $1 million, ESPN reports.

The Children's Hospital of Orange County helped Freddie Freeman's family tremendously when his son faced a severe case of Guillain-Barré last year, and now the Los Angeles Dodgers star is giving back to the hospital.
