Teen newly baptized, Oakland man ID’d in Russian River drownings
Authorities on Tuesday identified teenage boy and a man who drowned in separate events over the weekend along the Russian River. Elan Miranda, 17, was visiting Monte Rio Beach on Sunday with an Oakland church group. Around 2:50 p.m., he was sitting on a float with a teenage girl when it flipped, sending them both into the water.
