Severe weather warnings and watches were issued for parts of southern Ontario Wednesday afternoon. Just after 2:30 p.m., Environment Canada said meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.
Environment Canada's tornado warning for eastern Ontario has ended. From about 3:20 until 4 p.m. the agency said a severe thunderstorm could possibly produce a tornado in communities such as Kemptville and Merrickville. It's not yet known if a tornado formed.
