Tennessee baseball is competing to secure a postseason host spot against Vanderbilt. The Vols have hosted regionals in four or five seasons.

Vanderbilt enters the Tennessee series with a one-game losing streak. The Commodores lost at Louisville, 5-4, on Tuesday. Eighth-year Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello discussed playing Vanderbilt after the Indiana State game.

On May 6, Nye took the mound against Louisville at Jim Patterson Stadium, with the game serving as a test for how he would perform against a step up in competition. Although Vanderbilt lost, 5-4, Nye put up a solid performance with two runs allowed in five innings. He got a no-decision.
