BMW has frozen a £600m investment to electrify the Mini Plant in Oxford due to a slower-than-expected take-up of electric vehicles (EVs). These plans to bring back an electric Mini hatch and start assembling the new car in the city were initially announced in September 2023 with production scheduled for 2026.
