Southwest Airlines is introducing a new battery policy in its cabins starting next week, which will require passengers to keep portable chargers visible when they're in use onboard.

Southwest Airlines is ending its free checked bags policy for most passengers starting Wednesday.

The first checked bag will cost $35 and the second will cost $45, the company said Tuesday.

Starting Wednesday, the airline will charge customers $35 for one checked bag and $45 for a second, unless they hold the airline’s credit card or have elite status.
