Mark Meador, who previously worked for the DOJ and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, was confirmed on a party-line vote as President Donald Trump’s nominee to the Federal Trade Commission.

The U.S. Senate confirmed President Donald Trump's pick for the third Republican commissioner on the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, despite criticism from Democrats over Trump's move to oust two commissioners from the consumer protection and antitrust agency.

"In a world where any of us can be removed for any reason at any time, it doesn't matter what commissioners think," FTC commissioner Alvaro Bedoya told Gizmodo.
