A coalition of national Democratic committees are launching a tour to host town hall meetings with voters in Republican-held districts across the U.S. The tour, titled “People’s Town Halls,” is being organized by the Democratic National Committee (DNC),

A series of events in all 50 states aims to capitalize on a recent warning from Republican leadership that its lawmakers should avoid such public forums.

But Senate Majority Leader John Thune “indicated that Democrats have not yet made a formal offer,” POLITICO’s Jordain Carney reports. “At some point there’s gotta be an offer on the table,” Thune said.
