After a pair of wins over Texas in 2025, Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs seek another SEC title with one of his most inexperienced rosters.

Georgia and Texas have gone head-to-head for multiple recruits in recent cycles. While it seems Georgia has been on the losing end recently, the Bulldogs did beat out Texas for f ive-star tight end Kaiden Prothro and four-star defensive back Chace Calicut in this cycle.

The Georgia Bulldogs have certainly put together a strong 2026 recruiting class, ranking No. 2 in the nation, sporting big names such as five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro and four-star safety Justice Fitzpatrick.

The commitment is a two-fold win for Texas, who lands the top linebacker in the country while beating Georgia for its top in-state player.

Had Georgia lost to Texas, the Bulldogs would be essentially eliminated from SEC title game contention with conference losses to Texas and Alabama. Now, the Bulldogs pick up a pivotal tiebreaker.
