An avid mountain biker was reported missing after "not returning from a planned mountain biking trip" on Friday, officials said.

Searchers covered more than 250 miles over the weekend in their efforts to find a missing Gresham mountain biker, and the search-and-rescue operation is continuing Monday.. Ralph Sawyer, 52, did not return as planned Friday night from a bike outing on Mount Hood. He is said to be an experienced mountain biker familiar with the terrain.
