Nvidia reportedly plans to expand its presence in China with a new research center in Shanghai, even as the U.S. cracks down on the company's chip sales to the country.

The plan follows the Trump administration’s recent move to tighten curbs on China’s access to Nvidia’s high-end AI chips.

The center will assess ways to meet U.S. restrictions while catering to the local market, although production and design will continue outside China.
