Angel City defender Savy King has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing successful heart surgery, beginning the next phase of her recovery about a week after a medical event during her team's match against the Utah Royals.

The National Women's Soccer League says the game between Angel City and Utah should not have continued after defender Savy King collapsed on the field.

The NWSL said last Friday's game in which Angel City FC defender Savy King collapsed on the field should have ended following the incident.
