Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1"-2" will be possible for much of Southeast Louisiana. Some locally higher totals will still be possible though. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has been monitoring an area of low pressure, Invest 93-L. It now has a 0% of development as it moves through Southeast Louisiana.
Thousands of residents near Gretna lost power Thursday morning as a tropical disturbance in the Gulf began dumped rain across south Louisiana.
For Houston, the best chance to see rain will likely be Friday afternoon, especially between 4 and 5 p.m., as the edge of the tropical moisture moves closer. Forecast models show some scattered showers or a quick downpour for eastern counties, but overall rainfall totals are expected to stay light — perhaps just a half an inch to an inch.
