While this is common practice in some cultures, most airplane toilets are not built for that, and you run the risk of breaking something. If you're sitting down, there are often covers (see here, in the wall immediately to the right of the toilet lid) you can place over the seat first. The toilet lid will have two pieces: a seat and a lid.

Aug 14, 2014 · To prevent passengers from accidentally opening the lavatory door on another fellow passenger, the lights will not turn on before locking the door, activating the "occupied" sign. However, regulations require minimal light, not to mention the comfort needs; many would feel uncomfortable being in total darkness while trying to lock the door.

May 4, 2016 · @arney if you plan to sleep this will be bad idea, people in the middle will keep waking you up if they want to go to toilet or move. Also, stretching your leg to the sides means you blocking the aisle, either cabin crew will ask you to move them inside or people will step on it all the way. Go for A or K seats (window seats) if you plan to sleep.

Coming back to your airplane toilet, if the airplane toilet needs this special toilet paper, you can assume that this is what the airline provides.

Security related reasons are also obvious, the aircraft is closer to the land and most likely over a city, which make the sabotage plans have bigger effects. What will the crew do. The crew will knock on the door, and ask you to come out.

Jan 1, 2015 · I have used the washroom many times when the seat belt sign is on, and I have even had the door from locked from inside when the sign turns on. The flight attendants are used and trained for minor turbulence. The trollies (with wheels) have brakes on them. They are generally safe even during a minor turbulence.

The best course of action would be to contact the airline prior to your flight and inform them of your needs. They may be able to arrange for an aisle wheelchair or other accommodations to assist you in using the restroom.

Jun 20, 2016 · BEWARE: In the United States, using the word toilet to mean anything other than the actual porcelain fixture sounds shocking or rude. The difference between British and American English in this regard is quite pronounced. The first time I visited the UK, I was quite surprised to see signs which read "Toilet." You would never see such in the US.
