Sep 10, 2016 · I have set Chrome as my default browser and have set .url's to open with Internet Browser (if set to chrome.exe you don't get a web page, you get text but you do get all shortcuts with the correct icon). I have made all applicable registry default icons pointing to c;\program files(x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe,0.
PDF icons are all changed to Chrome browser icons.

Jul 21, 2024 · I use Google Chrome as my preferred Internet browser, and all my Desktop Shortcuts to web pages, normally show the Chrome Icon. However, for some strange reason, when I turned on my laptop today, All of my Internet Desktop Shortcut Icons, have changed to show the Internet Explorer Icon, instead of the Chrome Icon!
Can you change the shortcut icons from Edge's to website favicons?

Is there a way to change these desktop icons to the various websites' favicons, making them easier to see/read/use? I think that you can right-click a shortcut, then choose "Properties," then click on "Change Icon."

May 3, 2021 · Thanks all. No, I have not changed my default web browser. Am still with Firefox. When I look a little deeper I now realise the problem is only occurring with what the Shortcut Icon(s) Properties refer to as Web Documents i.e the shortcuts that open web programs, not programs on the PC.

Aug 1, 2016 · Hi all. yesterday I ran CC Cleaner and it changed my browser from edge to internet explorer 11. So i did a system restore, which put my browser back to edge. But now when I open a new page its just blank with a search bar. There are no 'most visited sites' and there is no news feed? Can anyone tell me what has happed and how to fix it? thanks
