In March 2002, I assembled a basic treated wood table for my small size Big Green Egg. At that time I documented my parts, steps, and prices. What follows is the result of that documentation. Please feel free to use these plans, modifying as you wish.

This table is designed specifically for an XL Big Green Egg using measurements provided by Big Green Egg. The design assumes you’ll be using a Big Green Egg Nest which keeps the Egg from making direct contact with the wood. Direct contact can cause a fire so DO NOT do that.

Big Green Egg makes one (size large fits this project nicely) or you can go to a discount department store that carries those giant gas grills and find a cheapo one there.

These plans are for an XL Big Green Egg Table. If you have a different size Big Green Egg, the plans will need to be adjusted. Your first decision point is the overall size.

The plans show the appropriate measurements to construct this table for Large, Medium and Small Big Green Egg cookers.

Using deck screws and glue will make your table very strong. The decking boards can be 1”x6” or you could also use 2”x4”. Rounding the Edges will give a more finished look and can be done easily with a router or sander. Finishing the wood with a clear wood finish or stain and sealer will make your table more attractive and extend the life.
