Deacon Bill was ordained in 2009 and served at his family’s home parish of St. Joseph in Arlington for 13 years. Deacon Bill retired from the business world in 2017, after serving at DFW International Airport for 38 years, working in engineering, construction and information technology.

Deacon Bill has been serving at St. Patrick Parish for 2.5 years. In addition to the responsibilities of a Deacon, he is our Outreach Director and Baptismal Coordinator. Through the Outreach Ministry, Deacon Bill and his team set up opportunities for service within the parish.

Retired Deacon Bill Johnson, who led the faithful in prayer, and Msgr. Leonard G. Scott, a retired priest of the Diocese and member of the Canon Law Society of America, were among the clergy in attendance at the retreat held during the first week of Black Catholic History Month.

Deacon Bill Johnson was one of the most enthusiastic voices, and he generously agreed to chair the ad-hoc “mission committee” that was assembled. Of course a good number of volunteers pitched in, in all sorts of capacities.
