Also, the manga does not answer a lot of questions, either - it devolves into one of those arbitrarily-complex plots with way more questions than answers, and brings up twice as many new questions ...

Yeah Deadman Wonderland had a lot of edginess to the story, but unlike some modern manga (haha) the edginess actually had significance to the story and was used as a way to frame inner struggle of the characters and their development. And the reader leaves with a message that they can benefit from in their lives.

Aug 6, 2013 · I thought deadman wonderland was garbage to be honest. The first half had me hooked but everything after they left prison was stupid in my opinion. I thought it would have been better if they stayed in prison the second half and ended it with a FEW of them getting out and tasting freedom after they reflected on their past time being locked up.

Aug 11, 2015 · So she pretty much attacked Ganta because she was torn between hating him and hating herself. She felt like she didn't deserve to live, but also didn't want to die. Ultimately, the fight ended in a final clash that put Shiro in a coma and Ganta being okay, however both lost their deadman abilities in the fight.

Why was Hagire (the Director) so obsessed with having Shiro and him kill each other for eternity? He mentions that he was trying to "dissect love".
