The National Wellness Institute promotes Six Dimensions of Wellness: emotional, occupational, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual. Addressing all six dimensions of wellness in our lives builds a holistic sense of wellness and fulfillment.

Aug 30, 2021 · Learning about the Six Dimensions of Health can help a person choose how to make wellness a part of everyday life. Wellness strategies are practical ways to start developing healthy habits that can have a positive impact on physical and mental health.

SHAPE America’s National Health Education Standards define what a student should know and be able to do as result of a highly effective health education program. The standards serve as an important framework to address the holistic development of students and ensure consistency and quality in health education programs nationwide.

Whether you use the health triangle or the Wellness Wheel with six, eight, or ten dimensions of health or another health theory altogether, the true power of each tool is that it teaches students that health is multidimensional and that the dimensions of health are interconnected.

Sit with people with the same health style as you. What are the characteristics of your health style? What is the relationship between the dimensions of health and your health style?

Explain the technical difference between health education and health promotion and how they work in unison. Explain the lengths to which the health education profession checks and validates its core responsibilities and competencies. Identify the assumptions of health promotion.

From the Health and Wellbeing Monitor, our community identified six key dimensions that work together to enhance health and improve quality of life. A spirit of learning and growth in each of these dimensions is important if we are to feel fulfilled and whole as individuals and communities.
