Medulloepithelioma is a rare congenital tumor of the ciliary body and iris. The current classification and grading of medulloepithelioma shows inconsistencies and does not reflect clinical behavior.

Mar 18, 2023 · B-scan ultrasonography showed vitreous opacity and a medium-high uneven echo mass in the eyeball. Ultrasound biomicroscopy examination showed a spherical or hemispherical ciliary body mass with uneven internal echoes and irregular cystic spaces.

B-scan ultrasonographic features included tumor thickness (millimeter), intratumoral cysts (present/absent, percentage in relation to tumor), calci cation (present/absent, fi percentage in relation to tumor), vitreous features, retinal detach-ment, extraocular extension.

Ocular B-scan ultrasound OS revealed an intraocular lesion with calcifications and retinal detachment. Orbital MRI suggested left globe hypercellularity. An infiltrative lesion involving the ciliary body was seen in the left eye on examination under anesthesia.
